You're not gray here on anything you author, and you're presumably not grayed on the FP *on articles that Raph writes*, but you'd be gray on other authors until such time as you're properly "followed by Jalopnik" or those other authors.

This is oppo, since you already are an author, there is no grey. For the frontpage you have to beg Hardibird or Raph.
